Welcome back to my series!! Let’s chat all things weddings, and what to consider when setting the “perfect” wedding date.
First things first, you and your partner need to answer these three questions:
1. When did we get engaged?
2. How long of an engagement do we want?
3. Can we plan our ideal wedding in this amount of time?
4. Bonus question: What time of year (season) do we prefer? Taking your location and seasonal weather into account.
Once you answer those three/four questions, you’ll have a much better idea as to when your wedding date will be versus just thinking “Well, we love fall so let’s get married then.”
Tanner and I got engaged in the summer and we preferred a 9-12ish month engagement. (I knew I already had weddings booked for 2027 so I wanted to make sure I could plan the wedding around my busy schedule while also enjoying our engagement season and keeping my sanity!!) That brought us to May-September of 2027. We thought long and hard about what month, the advantages and disadvantages to each (weather, planned family trips, holidays, previously booked weddings). We decided on a August wedding date and I’m so excited!
